Lust is the second Circle of Hell in Hell Maiden Early Access, available alongside Limbo when Steam Early Access launches July 16, 2026. Lust escalates enemy density, introduces wind-based movement mechanics, and culminates in the Libicocco boss fight after sub-boss Scarmiglione. This walkthrough prepares Limbo veterans for faster spawns, tighter arenas, and poet card pools that favor AOE and crit builds over pure sustained burn.
Lust Circle Overview
Lust follows Limbo's timed survival structure with adjusted spawn schedules and new enemy types resistant to pure burn strategies. Wind gusts periodically push player position and scatter enemy formations — mobility and knockback mods outperform stationary fire builds.
Early Access includes Homer and Ovid poet content tied to Lust progression. Players entering Lust with only Dante unlocked can clear content but struggle against health-heavy elites without Virgil AOE or Horace crit investment.
Map layout differs from Limbo with new temple locations and quest markers — reference the Lust map guide before your first attempt. Controls and core mechanics remain identical — controls reference.
New Enemies and Spawn Patterns
Lust enemies spawn at higher baseline density than Limbo trash waves. Fast movers close distance during wind calm periods, punishing players who rely on forward-cone weapons without repositioning. AOE star weapons and orbiting projectiles handle density better than single-direction fire.
Elite units appear on accelerated schedules compared to Limbo's minute 4, 7, and 9 pattern. Elite Slayer charm from Beatrice provides more value in Lust than Limbo — prioritize it if offered at level 7 or 9 during Lust runs.
Environmental hazards include wind channels that redirect movement during specific timer windows. Unlike Limbo's fixed fire traps at 5:35 and 10:05, Lust wind events vary by map zone — stay mobile and avoid arena edges during gust phases.
Scarmiglione Sub-Boss
Scarmiglione appears as Lust's sub-boss before the Libicocco finale. Charge attacks, wind buffs, and stagger windows define the fight — burst damage during stagger outperforms sustained burn. Crit builds with Horace spears excel; Virgil star builds handle add spawns during the fight.
Learn stagger timing before committing spell tokens — wasting spells during invulnerable charge wind-ups extends fight duration dangerously. Full attack pattern breakdown on the Scarmiglione boss guide.
Sub-boss defeat grants interim rewards and story progression toward Libicocco. Failure ends the run — no checkpoint between Scarmiglione and Libicocco in Early Access.
Libicocco Final Boss
Libicocco is Lust's finale boss with wind-based arena mechanics that shift each phase. Calm wind windows allow burst damage; active wind phases require dodging and add control rather than DPS checks.
Recommended builds: Virgil star hybrid for add clear, crit build for phase damage windows, or experienced Dante fire with knockback mods for spacing. See Libicocco strategy guide and boss page.
Charms: Attack Speed and Elite Slayer remain strong. Max Health helps survive wind-push into hazards. Spell tokens during calm phases accelerate kill time before enrage thresholds.
Recommended Progression Path
Clear Limbo multiple times unlocking Virgil (two runs) and Horace (third-run rescue) before serious Lust attempts. Entering Lust Dante-only is viable for story but frustrating for completionists.
First Lust run goal: learn wind mechanics and Scarmiglione patterns without expecting full clear. Second run onward: commit optimized builds from the tier list with merged level 3 mods.
Early Access roadmap from AstralShift targets roughly one year of updates adding future Circles beyond Lust. Lust content represents mid-Early Access progression depth.
