AstralShift revealed Hell Maiden's official cinematic opening on July 15, 2026 — one day before Steam Early Access launch. Directed by the studio with animation supervision by Jeto of Studio Rosatrium, the 2D anime-style opening was crafted by a collaborative team of indie animators and features Mili's fully original theme song "Not my Paradiso." The same sequence plays at game startup in the Early Access client.
Production and Creative Team
AstralShift directed the opening movie in-house, bringing the same aristocratic gothic visual identity seen throughout Hell Maiden's in-game 2D animation clips. Jeto of Studio Rosatrium supervised animation quality, coordinating a small group of independent animators for the high-tension opening sequence.
Japanese band Mili — credits include Honkai: Star Rail, Limbus Company, Library of Ruina, ENDER LILIES, and Goblin Slayer — wrote, composed, and produced every aspect of "Not my Paradiso." AstralShift announced the collaboration June 16, 2026.
The opening introduces Dante's second journey through Hell after reaching Paradiso, her memory loss, and the longing for redemption that drives the Early Access narrative arc through Limbo and Lust.
July 15 Premiere and In-Game Playback
The cinematic premiered on AstralShift's official YouTube channel July 15, 2026 — launch eve before Steam Early Access went live July 16. Gaming outlets including IGN mirrored the video for international audiences.
Purchasing Hell Maiden on Steam Early Access triggers the opening at every game launch. Players can rewatch the full cinematic on YouTube or revisit the Mili theme guide for collaboration history and Skyleo OST context.
A shorter in-game version may differ slightly from the full YouTube cinematic — both use the same Mili composition.
